Face search helps guests find the photos they appear in, without scrolling through the whole gallery. It is optional, it needs your consent, and you can turn it off and delete your data at any time.
01Your choice
- You can view a public gallery without face search.
- Face search starts in a coverage only when you choose it there.
- You can stop it in any coverage, or delete all your face data, whenever you want.
02How it works
- You take a selfie in the gallery. It becomes your face reference and is kept in our private storage, in your guest account.
- When a photography company turns face search on for a coverage, the faces in that coverage's photos are indexed, only for that coverage.
- Your face reference is compared with that index, and you see the photos you probably appear in. New photos are checked as they arrive during the event.
- Only you see your results. The photography company sees only numbers, such as how many guests used the feature.
03Who processes face data
The face comparison is carried out by Amazon Rekognition (Amazon Web Services) in its Asia Pacific (Mumbai) region, on our instructions. We never use face data for advertising, never sell it, and never use it for anything other than finding your own photos.
04How long it is kept
- Stopping face search in a coverage deletes that coverage's copy of your face reference and your matches there.
- Deleting your face data from your account page deletes your face reference from your account and from every coverage, with all results.
- When a coverage ends, its face index and all its matches are deleted automatically.
- Deleting your account deletes all your face data.
Deleting face data does not delete the event photos themselves or your account.
05Accuracy
A match is a help to find photos, not an identity check. Some photos may be missed, and some may be shown by mistake.
06Children
If you are under 18, use face search only with the consent of a parent or guardian. A parent or guardian may use it to find their child's photos.
07Responsibility of the photography company
A photography company that turns face search on for a coverage must inform its client and the guests of the event and obtain any consent the law requires.
